Après avoir été accueilli gracieusement depuis 2012 par la Maisons des Arts Actuels de la rue des Chartreux (MAAC), LABO a emmenagé au-dessus de chez argos (center for visual arts), rue des Commerçants 62, toujours dans le centre de Bruxelles. Ce nouveau lieu est idéalement situé, confortable et permet de nouvelles synergies avec d’autres acteurs du paysage audio-visuel bruxellois. Pour y pérenniser notre emménagement et pour y déployer nos activités, nous continuons donc à récolter les messages de soutiens pour montrer aux pouvoirs subsidiants les intérêts que suscite notre démarche.

Si vous avez envie de nous soutenir, une des manières est donc de nous envoyer un mail (labo@labobxl.be) avec votre nom ou le nom de votre organisation et un petit mot qui explique pourquoi le LABO vous est cher. Nous le publierons ensuite sur ci-dessous.

Mira Borghs 💬 Mijn zin om met analoge 16 mm-film aan de slag te gaan, is tijdens de workshops van LABO BXL absoluut aangewakkerd en de passie is blijven branden. Ondertussen heb ik zelf een Bolex-camera gekocht om nieuwe beelden op pellicule te toveren. LABO BXL biedt workshops, ondersteuning, en verbinding met filmmakers die hongerig zijn naar de analoge film. Ik heb lang gezocht naar een organisatie die zulke praktijkervaring en passie voor analoge film kan meegeven en ik wens dan ook dat LABO BXL kan blijven bestaan.

Sophie Sherman 💬 Un lieu si rare en Belgique pour s'initier et expérimenter le cinéma argentique. Le LaboBxl permet de rencontrer des artistes passionnés et généreux en conseils. Les ateliers qu'ils organisent régulièrement consistent entre autres à filmer en argentique, à développer à la main et à projeter avec des projecteurs argentique. Un lieu qui permet l'expérimentation, la rencontre, la transmission de savoirs et la pérénité du cinéma argentique. Labobxl est indispensable et unique pour les amoureux de la péllicule, de la chimie et de la poésie. Offrez-leur un espace !

elephy 💬 elephy is an artist-run, Brussels-based production and distribution platform for film and media art founded by Rebecca Jane Arthur, Chloë Delanghe, Eva Giolo and Christina Stuhlberger in 2018. Many of our projects are produced with analogue film, and most of us started our journey with the medium at LABO BXL, learning how to use a 16 mm camera through their workshops, advice, and expertise. Since then, we continue to learn and seek knowledge from LABO BXL with our experiments, trials and triumphs in analogue film. LABO BXL fulfil an informative, educational need as well as an artistic one. The artists running the lab are unfailingly helpful and generous with their skills, and we throughly believe that their work should be valued and supported. To imagine a stable, secure location for the lab with the vision of providing support and equipment to artists when working with the analogue medium is the minimum we would hope for. We would hope that LABO BXL’s time, knowledge, enthusiasm, and dedication to the medium will also be fairly compensated, rather than relying on their labour of love. Without hesitation, we fully back them in their endeavours and wish that they receive the funding and the infrastructure necessary to continue carrying out their unique and irreplaceable role in our arts-film environment. Courtisane vzw 💬 Met dit schrijven willen wij graag jullie aanvraagdossier voor werkingsmiddelen ondersteunen. Reeds vele jaren volgen wij met grote interesse jullie projecten en wij zijn overtuigd van uw grote waarde binnen de audiovisuele sector. Zoals jullie weten is ook Courtisane een vurig verdediger van de analoge media 16mm en 35mm. Jaarlijks presenteren wij tientallen nieuwe of historische werken op deze formaten. Helaas verdwijnt bij velen de kennis over onderhoud, productie en presentatie van celluloid film en jullie ruimte voor onderzoek, experiment en creatie bewijst reeds sinds de opstart hoe cruciaal het bewaren en overleveren van deze specifieke kennis is voor onze en de komende generaties van kunstenaars, festivals en filmmakers, kunstencentra, kunstgalerijen, …

Auguste Orts 💬 LABO BXL is onmisbaar voor iedereen die wil leren over analoge film. Er is geen enkele kunstschool die zoiets nog echt aanleert. Hopelijk vindt LABO BXL een werkplek die hen in staat stelt de werking verder open te stellen.
