Els van Riel led the workshop and gave an introduction to the basic maintenance of EIKI projectors.
We delved into the very heart of the projectors, dismantling each component until their inner workings were revealed. Like a surgeon performing open-heart surgery, we used an old projector as a ‘donor’.
On the second day, we benefited from the expert advice of Giuseppe Suma, former projectionist at UGC and technician at Verwaest, which specialises in the rental of 16mm and 35mm projectors. Thanks to his expertise, we learned how to rebuild the dismantled EIKI projectors, analysing each part to understand their unique workings and history. This workshop was a valuable opportunity for each participant to understand and correct the specific faults of their own EIKI projector.
